LONGEVITY AS OUR COMPASS

Thinking long term

Vacheron Constantin's centuries of history encourage us to reflect on the scope and consequences of our daily actions. It is in the long term that courageous decisions take on their full meaning. This awareness of the value of time guides our choices, our developments and our future projects.

LONGEVITY Engagements

Longevity is a core value at Vacheron Constantin. The quest for the highest possible quality guides each step in the manufacturing of our watches. Our watchmakers meticulously decorate the invisible parts of our movements to protect them from the wear of time. We support our clients with a range of services to guarantee the perfect operation and precision of their watches over the long term.

Careful choice of materials and production equipment

To ensure the longevity of our watches, Vacheron Constantin continuously strives to guarantee the quality of their components and the elegance of their aesthetic finishes.

In addition to the intrinsic quality of the precious materials we use, such as gold or diamonds, we always give priority to the highest quality, whether it be for the sapphire crystal that adorns the dials of our watches or for our high-grade steels and our hardened platinum alloy.

For other materials, we have access to the Richemont Circle Materials Platform that provides a second-life to unused stocks of leathers and textiles.

All our technical equipment is chosen for its durability over time and its reparability. The tools used in our factories combine historical machines used to restore vintage watches with high-tech modules based on the latest innovations. This is notably the case with our new Micro5 milling machine, selected for its greater reliability, speed and energy savings.

The high quality of our watches is attested to by the numerous checks carried out on the components, movements and newly-assembled watches. The Hallmark of Geneva, synonymous with provenance, quality craftsmanship and reliability, requires 10 to 24 days of final tests on all eligible pieces.

The high standards and promise of longevity are the perfect illustrations of the watchmaking expertise that we perpetuate. This is concretised by a wide range of services that ensure the use and transmission of our watches through time, from generation to generation.

Vacheron Constantin watches are conceived and designed to live several lives. Second-life through secured purchase and resell is facilitated via the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) programme and via the trade-in service  in partnership with WatchFinder.
