Métiers d'Art Tribute to great civilisations - Victoire de Samothrace
7620A/000G-B928 42 mm White Gold

In close collaboration with the Musée du Louvre, Vacheron Constantin presents a new series of watches in its Métiers d’Art collection dedicated to the great civilisations of Antiquity, including the Hellenistic Greece of Alexander the Great’s successors. This era is represented by the peerless masterpiece of Hellenistic sculpture, the Victoire de Samothrace. The drapery of the statue represented a major difficulty for the engraver in charge of reproducing all its subtleties. The centre of the main dial is enamelled in brown, a colour that is very difficult to achieve and required a mixture of rare enamels that are indeed no longer produced as well as six firings in the kiln. This Métiers d'Art Tribute to great civilisations – Victoire de Samothrace watch celebrates masterfully the ageless glory of Greece.
