The Patrimony collection

"The design of Patrimony pays tribute to the Maison’s watches of the 1950s. During this decade, there were many particularly elegant and refined creations, which have not lost their aesthetic appeal over time. In 2002, we started working on the concept of a watch that would be in some way a modern expression of our classic style.

We therefore drew our inspiration from the 1950s for the aesthetic codes of Patrimony, while also firmly anchoring it in the 21st century through its dimensions and volume. In fact, it is worth remembering that at the beginning of the 2000s, classic watches for men (particularly round models) came in diameters generally ranging from 31 to 35mm, with 37mm being considered very large. Our aim was to enhance the classic Patrimony design but with an increased diameter of 40mm, a size that was totally out of the norm at that time.

The Patrimony round case comes from a very pure design, it’s very fine with clean and simple lines. Its dial follows the codes of the 1950s Vacheron Constantin models, particularly with its circular-grained minute-counter and long, curved hour markers. The dial perfectly complements the case to create a contemporary and exceptionally refined timepiece. It should be noted that the design of the first Patrimony has remained unchanged since its launch in 2003. For me, this model represents the quintessential classic and elegant style of Vacheron Constantin."
