About this watch
Perpetual calendars underwent a major revival between 1978 and 1985, with leading Swiss watchmakers presenting exceptional extra-flat automatic versions, the first perpetual calendars to be mass-produced. In 1983, Vacheron Constantin launched reference 43031, an extra-flat perpetual calendar, followed a year later by the skeletonized version, reference 43032, in a case measuring 36 mm in diameter and 7.5 mm high.
The perpetual calendar displays the days of the week, the date, the month over a period of four years to account for leap years, and moon phase and age on a lapis lazuli disc.
