This rectangular, extra-flat watch in 18K white gold reference 7753P, equipped with Caliber 1003, was the perfect response to the surge of electronic watches that marked the beginning of the 1970s. About this watch

Shaped watches have a long tradition at Vacheron Constantin. These include the square, rectangular and cambered watches seen between 1910 and 1920. This model is a direct descendant, imaginative yet extremely elegant, without departing from the great mechanical tradition of the Manufacture.

About the caliber

Of all of Vacheron Constantin's impressive heritage, one movement occupies a very special place: the Caliber 1003 manually wound movement developed from 1952 to mark the bicentenary of the Manufacture in 1955. At just 1.64 mm thick and with a diameter of 9 lignes (21.1 mm), it is one of the thinnest manually wound mechanical movements ever developed. By way of comparison, this masterpiece of micromechanics stamped with the Hallmark of Geneva and made up of 117 components, is the size of a small 20 Swiss cent coin.
