Les collectionneurs reference 6068

6068/000J

Everything about this 7 mm-thick extra-flat watch with small seconds evokes Vacheron Constantin's great tradition, symbolized by its Maltese cross emblem. The horns are the shape of a quarter cross while the dial features a double Maltese cross, in yellow gold at 12 o'clock and as an appliqué on a motif in the shape of a Maltese cross "en réserve", standing out with its horizontal satin finish.

About this watch

Produced five years after the company's bicentenary, reference 6068 is a nod to one of the Vacheron Constantin "Bicentenary" models produced for the occasion. Advertising at the time made one thing clear about the Maltese cross: "Two hundred years of constantly renewed effort with the sole aim of meeting quality requirements have today made this emblem the very symbol of watchmaking perfection..." Enough said!

About the caliber

This watch from 1960 follows Vacheron Constantin's tradition of extra-flat watches. Equipped with Caliber 1001 and just 2.94 mm thick, it is a remarkable construction boasting six arabesque bridges. Certified with the Hallmark of Geneva, it falls into the category of chronometric quality movements thanks to its precision regulator.
