Looking after your watch
Embodying the very essence of horological excellence, Vacheron Constantin watches are remarkable timepieces endowed with exceptional precision and reliability.
In order to ensure they continue running as smoothly as the day they were purchased, Vacheron Constantin watches require regular maintenance that guarantees their legendary quality and longevity.
Therefore, in order to provide them with the meticulous care they deserve, Vacheron Constantin offers its customers an exclusive service combining stringent dedicated checks with scrupulous attention to the details of the movement, which are systematically verified.
Maintaining your quartz watch
Quartz has the distinctive property of vibrating at an extremely high frequency (32kHz) when it is placed within an oscillating electrical circuit. The energy thus provided by the battery is regulated and then transmitted to the hands.
Battery replacement
To avoid a quartz watch stopping unexpectedly, it is advisable to have the battery changed every two years.
A battery that stays in the watch for many years is liable to leak and thus to damage the movement.
A regular full servicing
Since a quartz watch is composed of many mechanical parts, we recommend having a complete maintenance-service performed every 6 to 7 years in order to ensure the smooth running of your watch.
Water resistance
We strongly advise an annual check of all the seals on your watch in order to maintain its original level of water resistance.
Your watch should also be used in accordance with its specific water-resistance characteristics.
To protect the movement from humidity, be careful to ensure that the crown is always pushed back in or screwed back flush with the case, particularly after setting the time or adjusting functions.
If water were to seep inside the case accidentally, or if you were to see any trace of damp, please take your watch to the nearest Authorized Vacheron Constantin Repair Centre. After any contact with seawater, it is advisable to rinse your watch in fresh water (for water-resistant watches) and to dry it with a non-abrasive cloth.
Maintaining your leather strap
The strap/bracelet also deserves your full attention. Leather is a living, delicate and sensitive material that must be regularly cared for. We draw your attention to the fact that humidity and skin products may accelerate aging.
Read carefully the instructions for your watch
The operating instructions for this watch, which we strongly advise you to read with the utmost care, will provide you with all the information you need to use your watch and its strap or bracelet in the best possible conditions. If you have any doubts or questions, feel free to contact your nearest Vacheron Constantin retailer.
