Special Jury Prize for the Reference 57260 - Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2015

Last Thursday October 29th 2015, The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) honoured Jean-Luc Perrin, Yannick Pintus and Micke Pintus, Vacheron Constantin’s three Master Watchmakers, for Reference 57260, the most complicated watch ever made.

The Special Jury Prize is particularly symbolic within the world of Haute Horlogerie in that it celebrates first and foremost the work of the men behind a timepiece. Considered “an authentic human adventure” according to Vacheron Constantin CEO Juan-Carlos Torres, the eight years of development required to create the Reference 57260 watch drew upon exceptional expertise and a determination to push the boundaries of feasibility.

The three Master Watchmakers, who have developed many of the most complex Vacheron Constantin timepieces, already won the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix ten years ago in 2005 for the Tour de l’Ile, which was at the time the world’s most complicated watch. The research and the competencies developed during its construction represent the greatest contribution to the evolution of mechanical horology since the 1920s.

Reference 57260, a one-of-a-kind bespoke creation bearing the Hallmark of Geneva, features 57 horological complications, several of which are unprecedented, including multiple calendars and a double retrograde split-seconds chronograph.
