In the presence of Her Majesty Queen Sophie of Spain and Juan-Carlos Torres, Vacheron Constantin held a special concert in Madrid on 26 October in aid of the fight against Alzheimer’s. The Czech National Symphony Orchestra played works by Puccini, Rachmaninoff and Dvorak, directed by the young Spanish conductor, Inma Shara, one of the most talented of her generation who has conducted such internationally renowned orchestras as the Israel Philharmonic and the London Philharmonic. The solo pianist was the Italian Alessandro de Luca. Over 400 guests were invited, including the Duke de Bragança, Ms Mercedes Cabrera, Spain’s Minister of Education, Prince Kardam of Bulgaria and Princess Miriam of Hungary, Ana Botella, the wife of José Maria Aznar, the fashion designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, members of the Spanish royal family like Her Majesty Queen Sophie’s nephew, Bruno Gómez Acebo, accompanied by his wife, and Ana Martínez de Aguilar, Directress of the 'Queen Sofia Museum'. The evening closed with a cocktail party during which the guests were able to admire the precious platinum timepieces of the Vacheron Constantin Collection Excellence Platine as well as a selection of historical watches from the world’s oldest watch manufacture.
