2005 - The entire body of Vacheron Constantin employees congregate in GenevaOn the occasion of its quarter-millennium, Vacheron Constantin convened its entire international staff in Geneva on September 16th and 17th 2005, meaning over 400 people from around the globe. Vacheron Constantin, which is celebrating the 250th anniversary of its founding this year, chose to also mark the event in-house, since this date is obviously central to the life of the brand and the company. This celebration was organised in parallel with the 17 anniversary exhibitions held in locations ranging from Dubai in April through to Zurich in December, and which are enabling connoisseurs the world over to discover the exceptional heritage of one of the flagships of Swiss watchmaking excellence. This occasion represented a fine opportunity for the oldest Manufacture in continuous activity since its founding in 1755 to highlight this milestone by addressing itself to all the people who work under and on behalf of the Maltese Cross brand emblem. Especially since the day of the meeting gathering all Vacheron Constantin employees corresponds to the exact founding date of the prestigious House: September 17th 2005! The anniversary, which is unique in Swiss watchmaking history, is equally so within the life of the brand and the company. It gave many colleagues who knew each other only "virtually" - by phone or e-mail - a chance to meet each other for real at the festive evening held in Geneva on September 16th. The meeting even enabled a majority of the employees to discover the company headquarters and the workshops in which Vacheron Constantin watches spring to life. To mark such a special occasion, Vacheron Constantin expressed its heartfelt thanks to all members of its worldwide staff by presenting them with a specially created commemorative gold watch. |
