Not a diver’s watch according to the ISO 6425 international norm. The concept of water resistance
At Vacheron Constantin, the indication of water resistance is given in bars, based on the ISO 2281 international norm. Nonetheless, in order to meet the stringent quality demands of Vacheron Constantin watch products, the Manufacture uses testing methods that surpass the prescribed applications.
As a matter of principle, it is important to be aware that fluctuations in temperature and external factors such as the action of solvents, cosmetics or dust, as well as hard impacts and sudden movements, may all have an adverse effect on water resistance.
Since the water resistance of a watch is not guaranteed to last indefinitely – because the water-resistance systems and gaskets are in particular subject to wear and ageing – we recommend that you have the water-tightness of your watch tested at least once a year by an authorised Vacheron Constantin retailer.
Using the watch in water
Kindly take account of the fact that, depending on the material, not all watch wristbands are designed for use in water. Such is the case for example with leather straps. Prior to any use in water, ensure that the mobile parts are in their original position (crown, pushers, etc.)
