2006 – Vacheron Constantin commemorate its 200-year relationship with China
Beijing, 18 August 2006: Vacheron Constantin held an exhibition of 84 vintage pieces to commemorate its 200-year relationship with China. This was the largest Vacheron Constantin exhibition ever organized outside Switzerland and was attended by over 400 people: collectors and connoisseurs, members of the central government’s culture and heritage section, as well as many journalists. It was held at the China Millennium Monument, built to celebrate China’s entry into the 21st century and decorated with large frescoes tracing the country’s history and development. The guests particularly appreciated the 15 watches inspired by Chinese art, notably the caged songbird, an automaton dating from the late 19th century.
