			2006 - Vacheron Constantin backs the Trophée Bailli de Suffren Backed by Vacheron Constantin, the event’s major partner, the fifth Trophée Bailli de Suffren got under way at Saint-Tropez on June 24 in the presence of Brigitte Bardot, its patron, and Marc Pajot, its Honorary President. Reserved exclusively for classic yachts, it is one of the Mediterranean’s most spectacular races. Close to 25 beautiful yachts signed up for this year’s race. The final destination was La Valetta on the island of Malta, with two festive stops en route, at Porto Rotondo in Sardinia and in Palermo. Victory went to HAVSÖRNEN, a magnificent 1937 16m20 yacht which therefore also qualified for the Sabre d’Honneur de l’Amiral Satan, a prize sponsored by Vacheron Constantin. The boat’s owner, Charles Langereis, received a superb Overseas Chronograph, an instrument that is as technical as it is elegant. Vacheron Constantin has been associated with the Trophée Bailli de Suffren from the outset and is proud to contribute to the safeguarding of the spirit of Grand Classic Yachting displayed by the gentlemen sailors of the late 19th century; a true sporting spirit allied to values cherished by Vacheron Constantin: courtesy, fair play, respect for tradition, and elegance.
